ABOUT US

TPGHQ CREW

Tactical Playground HQ is a team of shooters, creators, and coaches passionate about helping others level up their skills, whether through detailed VR stage breakdowns or humorous skits with characters like Johnny Winn and Paige Chan. Our platform is built for everyone, from beginners to grandmasters hoping to train, laugh, and grow.

"If you no shoot fast… maybe you stay home, make spring roll for husband." - David "Johnny Winn" Hoang

David “Johnny Winn” Hoang is the creative engine behind Tactical Playground HQ, a filmmaker, storyteller, competitive shooter, and action-movie addict who blends education with entertainment. With 16 years of filmmaking experience, David built DVH Films into a premium, cinematic brand before expanding into the firearms world where his passion, humor, and camera work found a new home.

Through his larger-than-life persona Johnny Winn, David brings an approachable, comedic, and culturally iconic voice to shooting sports. He documents his and his team’s growth from VR novice to USPSA competitor while producing cinematic match recaps, ACE VR stage breakdowns, product reviews, training content, and the signature TPGHQ blend of action and chaos. His work aims to make the gun community safer, more welcoming, and way more fun.

Today, David leads the creative direction of Tactical Playground HQ, the VRPSA League, and the TPGHQ Training Grounds community. He collaborates closely with Grand Master shooters like Ashton Hammond and Deshaun Jenkins to create a space where new shooters can learn alongside him. Above all, David is a storyteller and a builder, using film, humor, and authenticity to show the world what it looks like to grow, learn, and thrive in the shooting community.

"Target locked! Tactical Playground Transformation... Activate!"

-Paige "-Chan" Huynh

Paige-Chan is the heart, energy, and rising star of Tactical Playground HQ, a dedicated new shooter who brings authenticity, curiosity, and anime-level enthusiasm to every training session and match. Starting her journey with airsoft and ACE VR before ever touching a real firearm, Paige-Chan represents exactly what TPGHQ stands for: learning from the ground up, embracing the process, and showing the world that beginners belong here too.

On camera, Paige-Chan delivers her signature blend of professional, cute, and relatable energy. She documents her progression from her first range sessions to her ongoing USPSA matches, sharing the highs, lows, and breakthroughs along the way. Whether she’s reviewing gear, breaking down what she learned from Grand Master instructors like Ashton Hammond and Deshaun Jenkins, or walking viewers through her match mindset, she brings a unique voice that makes shooting sports feel approachable and inspiring, especially for new and female shooters.

Today, Paige-Chan is one of the core leaders shaping the Tactical Playground HQ mission. She helps drive ACE VR content, product reviews, match episodes, and community engagement while advocating for more women to find confidence in firearms training. Her journey is still just beginning, and through her growth, she invites everyone watching to grow with her, one stage, one lesson, and one anime-powered breakthrough at a time.

"You can’t get so hung up on where you’d rather be that you forget how to make the most of where you are." – Arthur, Passengers (2016)

If I had to describe myself, I'd say corny. Simple as that. :^)

My go-to gun or gear setup is my trusty Canik Mete SF. It’s never failed me. I keep it simple with a Krydex battle belt, two pistol mag pouches, and one AR mag pouch. Enough to get the job done.

I first shot firearms in 2016 with my brother, who had been been a law enforcement officer for 2 years. Over time, I trained with stunt professionals who were former LEOs and military, focusing on firearms handling and weapons manipulation for film. In 2020, I bought my first pistol, the M&P 2.0, and that’s when the real journey began. Now, I’m proudly a Canik shooter, looooooool.

Fun fact about me is that I’m a filmmaker and an actor at heart. :^). I dream of building a community that supports and challenges each other, whether in competition or personal defense, while maintaining a culture of safety, respect, and skill. A place that not only produces better, more proficient shooters, but better people who inspire the next generation to uphold high standards and push them even further.

I roll with Tactical Playground HQ because there’s nothing better than shooting the breeze with your friends. No egos, just mutual support, self-improvement, and collective growth at full throttle.

“Memento Mori.” - Mr. Rasengun

I carry myself seriously, but with a touch of anime flair.

My go-to setup is a Glock 19 and a Sugar Weasel chambered in .300 Blackout. My story began when I first met Johnny Winn, and that's when my training arc started.  Now, I roll with Tactical Playground HQ because I respect the members. They're serious about training and improving.

One fun fact about me is that I once spent Christmas in Cuba.
A dream of mine is to earn a Gundie Award.

"The Legs feed the Wolves." - Ashton Hammond

I would describe myself as a down to earth adventurer. When I shoot, my go to gun is the Black Scorpion, Race City Defense, simple!!

I first got into shooting when I was watching YouTube and seen Lucas Botkin shooting and thought it was the coolest thing ever! I wanted to try it out, but I didn’t know where or how. I then found a local on Instagram post a stage run, and I was hooked after a quick DM.

A fun fact about me is that I have been on Disney Channel, and a future wish or dream of mine is having a training facility one day!

To me, Tactical Playground HQ is the best people with interest of sharing a story to better the community.

Don’t try, just do.” - Deshaun Jenkins

I’m serious while shooting. But when I’m not pulling the trigger I’m super goofy, playful, and chill at the same time. My go to Gun is the CZ Shadow 2 all done up by Cajun Gunworks. It’s such a versatile gun and it also looks soooooooo good!

I first got into shooting back in 2018 when I wanted to start carrying and I started working in Security/Law Enforcement. I wanted to actually be capable if I ever had to use my firearm. But in 2021 is when I started my competition arc and I leveled up IMMEDIATELY!

A fun fact about me is I can draw very very well. Many people aren’t aware of that fact because I don’t draw as much anymore. But I used to draw anime all the time. A future dream as it pertains to shooting is to have my own range that I can go to whenever I want and do whatever I want.

I roll with tactical playground because they are just amazing people. They’re super fun; they love anime and food just like me as well. Also they want to learn.
