CANCON is what happens when you give Americans suppressed firearms, free ammo,
and just enough adult supervision to keep the insurance company calm.
Hosted at the Clinton House Plantation in South Carolina and held November 7-8, CANCON
once again proved why it remains the gold standard for suppressed shooting events.
This marked the third straight year in South Carolina, and my sixth CANCON overall,
including the Arizona version. With both one- and two-day passes available, I chose the two-day
option because self-control is overrated and unlimited suppressed shooting should never be
rushed.
The Basics
● When: November 7-8
● Where: Clinton House Plantation, SC
● Tickets: $50 - $100 depending on days (early-bird discounts are real and worth it)
● Skill Level: Optional
● Vibes: Safe, organized, and mildly euphoric
You don’t need to shoot like John Wick or even know who Max Michel is to enjoy CANCON. It’s
open to the public, extremely approachable, and staffed by people who will happily teach you
how to shoot right there on the line. From .22LR to .50 BMG, including full-auto and FRTs, it’s
essentially an all-you-can-shoot experience… Crowd, Safety & Logistics
The crowd was a solid mix of families, military, LEOs, enthusiasts, and absolute firearm nerds.
Safety was consistently excellent: trained reps on every line, patient instruction, and zero
sketchy moments.
● Parking was plentiful (just arrive early if you dislike walking)
● Food trucks were on-site and clutch
● Porta-potties existed… slightly fewer than past years
● Weather was shockingly cooperative
● On-duty LEO presence throughout
You never felt unsafe, and that says a lot at an event like this.
Expect lines, but move around. Ask to shoot more than one firearm when it’s your turn, they’re
usually happy to accommodate. Final Thoughts
CANCON is genuinely for everyone. People were respectful, responsible, and clearly having a
great time.
Would I go again?
I’ve been six times already. Ask me about the VIP package…
So yeah absolutely “I’ll be Back”
Great guns, good people, and an easy excuse to educate yourself while having way too much
fun. If you’re new to suppressors, or just want firsthand experience instead of internet opinions,
CANCON delivers.
See you next year.
